STMicroelectronics has further expanded its motion sensor and introduce a very low-power digital output 3-axis accelerometer, the LIS3DH, which reduces power consumption by more than 90 percent of the existing solution, while reducing package footprint and boosting chip functionality.
The current consumption of the minimum current of 2¦ÌA, this 3x3x1 mm acceleration sensor is ideal for motion sensing, space and power, such as mobile phones, remote control and game consoles.
In the range of ¡À 2g / ¡À 4g / ¡À 8g / ¡À 16g full range, LIS3DH can provide very accurate measurement data output, in the rated temperature and long hours of work, can still maintain excellent stability.
The LIS3DH accelerometer module has a built-in temperature sensor and a three-way analog-to-digital converter that simply integrates the gyroscope and other companion chips. LIS3DH also provides a variety of functions, including mouse click / double click recognition, 4D / 6D direction detection and power saving to wake mode. In sleep mode, the detection link remains active, and when an event occurs, the sensor will wake up from sleep mode and automatically increase the output data rate.
Other important features include a programmable FIFO (first-in first-out) memory module and two programmable interrupt signal output pins that can immediately notify the host processor of other conditions such as motion detection, click / double-click events.
LIS3DH software and pins are compatible with STMicroelectronics LIS331 accelerometer series, users can directly change parts and easy upgrades, and thus protect the investment in application development.
